Ascent Partners Foundation Limited is a registered charity under Hong Kong's Inland Revenue Department (IRD) Section 88, established in 2017 by Mr Simon Mak, Chief Executive Officer of Ascent Partners Group Limited. The Foundation serves as the philanthropic arm of the firm, advancing sustainability through practical tools, structured knowledge, and collaborative platforms.
The Foundation operates an "angel donor" model, providing seed funding and facilitating donor access for emerging non-governmental organisations across three core areas: education, environment, and poverty alleviation.
Key supporter of the Asia-Pacific Business Forum (APBF) and the Asia-Pacific Forum on Sustainable Development (APFSD), facilitating dialogue between business leaders, policymakers, and civil society on sustainable development across the region.
In April 2024, the Foundation signed a Memorandum of Understanding with IUCN Asia to advance biodiversity conservation, connecting IUCN's conservation initiatives with Hong Kong's philanthropic community. In June 2026, the Foundation further extended this partnership by signing a Territory Partnership Agreement with the IUCN Academy to bring professional conservation education to Hong Kong.
The Foundation supports IOM's work on climate-induced migration, facilitating high-level dialogue connecting philanthropic leaders with migration and climate adaptation programmes.

Simon Mak is the Chief Executive Officer of Ascent Partners Group Limited and founder of Ascent Partners Foundation. With extensive experience in valuation, advisory, and sustainable finance, he established the Foundation in 2017 to bridge philanthropic communities with conservation initiatives across the Asia-Pacific. He is an active participant in COP conferences, UNESCAP forums, and international sustainability initiatives.
